One of the main differences between land-based gambling and online casino gambling is the location. Land-based gambling is usually done in a casino, where the atmosphere and vibe is totally different to online gambling, which is usually done in the comfort of the player’s own home. But is there any other difference between the two? Take the game of slots for example. If slots are played out of a land-based casino in Vegas or someone's living room in NYC, is there any difference?
The answer is: Probably not. Gambling with slots at a land-based casino is very similar to playing online. Regular slots are usually operated by a computer chip with a built-in random number generator. The game of slots for online gambling works in exactly the same way, with the software hard-coded into the computer chips in the machine. So while there may be more lights and glitz when gambling in Vegas, the game remains the exactly the same.
One of the main advantages for gambling online is the fact that it can be done from virtually anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to a computer. Land-based gambling means that the player has to travel to a specific location. Another advantage to online gambling is that comps are quicker to come by, with many online casinos vying for customers and therefore offering excellent welcome bonuses. Gambling is a highly individual pastime and everybody has their own taste in aspects such as location, environment, comfort and games. Players should try gambling at both venues (both online and land-based) to find their own personal preference, or ideally to combine the two. | |
