Following the announcement of several gambling conferences scheduled for London and Las Vegas comes news that the 2nd annual Poker Industry Conference and Exposition will be held in Costa Rica this year. Scheduled to take place on the 7th and 8th of December at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel in San Jose, the event is expected to attract some of the online gambling industry’s top names. The convention covers all aspects of the poker gambling industry with particular emphasis on marketing and technology.
Similar to the events at last year’s conference, the Expo will feature its own tournament for industry players and professional gambling stars. The tournament is to be held at the Fiesta Casino, a licensed casino operating in San Jose, and will showcase some of the best poker strategies on offer today. Last year’s event was attended by poker professionals Doyle Brunson and Mike Caro, as well executives from several major online gambling companies. The tournament is expected to receive widespread coverage in casino publications and on gambling websites.
Costa Rica is home to some of the world’s most successful online gambling firms. Calvin Ayre of the online casino group Bodog has helped to put Costa Rica on the map, and a large percentage of the billionaire’s latest poker gambling television show is filmed at his resort there.
