Over the course of the past few months, whenver a celebrity’s name got mentioned in relation to gambling, online casinos were quick to swoop in and present that celebrity with an endorsement offer. The latest Celebrity to be recruited by online gambling sites is Alex Rodriguez who was reprimand by Yankees officials for visiting underground poker dens in New York. Executives at Sports Interaction wasted no time presenting their six-figure offer to the budding poker star.
The offer handed to Rodriguez says that he could play exclusively at the online gambling site in the privacy of his own home or hotel room, preventing him from unnecessary trouble with the New York Yankees organization or the law. This is not the first time that Rodriguez has been approached by representatives of the online casino. The online gambling site submitted a preliminary offer to Rodriguez back in October when he was first seen at illegal poker rooms. The offer included a large complimentary account in return for exclusive play at the online gambling site. Their earlier offer was upgraded and handed to Rodriguez agent earlier last week.
Kevin Manning, SportsInteraction spokesperson says, “Alex Rodriguez is a great baseball player, and we want to ensure that he becomes a great poker player”. To sweeten the offer, the online gambling site proposed a home run bonus to Rodriguez offering an additional $500 for every home run he hits in the 2006 season.
