The online gambling industry is in the business of fulfilling dreams inside and outside the online casino. For a second straight year, Slotland Online Casino will be sponsoring the Ontario curling team, helping them in their pursuit of making it to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. The team will be competing in the St. Mary's Cashspiel, an annual event organized by two Team Slotland online casino players to be held this weekend.
The St Mary's Cashspiel will be the online casino sponsored team’s fourth outing of the season. The annual event will be taking place November 10 -13 at the St. Mary's Curling Club. The team will be competing for a $7000 purse. Last season, funding from the online gambling site enabled the team to compete in more tournaments than they could afford to attend the year before, giving them the kind of experience they need to become serious Olympic contenders.
Gerry Geurts, one of the members of the curling team said, “All the extra competition facilitated by the online gambling site last year really helped us tune our game”. Geurts added saying, “Rob Lamont, our Second, sprained his wrist playing baseball just days before the curling season started this year, so we didn't start off that great. But we've been serious contenders our last few times out, and if we improve as much through this season as we did last year, Team Slotland could be the team to beat”.
