Nestled in the Bukit Timah’s Turf City in Singapore, a new gambling school has opened to train future generations of gambling experts in the country. No, the students are not learning to be gamblers. Instead, they are being trained by professionals to serve as croupiers at popular gambling table games in Singapore, especially in the country’s first official casino – the Marina Bay Sands.
The gambling school, aptly named the International Club Games Training Center, aims to teach its students how to work as croupiers at gambling games such as roulette and other table games. The training school initiates a casino-like environment through the use of nineteen gambling cards tables (such as baccarat and poker), as well as no less than three roulette wheels. Students are thus exposed to real, hands-on gambling training and should be able to fit into any job at a casino once the course is completed. Students are also taught how to deal cards and handle chips.
Learning to be a gambling croupier doesn’t come cheap in Singapore. A six-month gambling course might put students back a whopping $4,500. This hasn’t stopped many from signing up for the course, however, as they know that the gambling world is growing at an incredible rate and anybody who gains experience in the industry has a career for life.
