The popular online gambling game of craps has a rather ancient history to it. A closer look at this history shows that craps did not always look the way it does today at the online casinos. There is evidence that show that games involving dice existed as long ago as 2600 BC in Egypt. But this form of dice game is not exactly the same as the modern day online gambling version. Only later, sometime during the 17th century, a similar game by the name of Hazard was played by aristocrats across Europe. When they arrived in the French colony of Louisiana, the game transferred abroad.
The 19th century saw another alteration in craps, another step on its way to become the online gambling game we know today. The first version to spread across the United States had one major flaw which is quite impossible to encounter today at the online gambling and casino versions. The early game had fixed dice due to its betting rules.
the fixed dice flaw was corrected later on with such corrections as the bet options 'right' or 'wrong' in the layout of the craps table, including a space for 'Don't Pass' bets. Following these changes, the game has lost the use of fixed dice and it has then become possible for players to bet for or against the roller. Later on, as an effect of the enormous popularity of the game of craps, soldiers were known to play it to break the boredom at the front lines and overseas and movies included the game in their story lines. | |
