Gambling can be a fun and exciting pastime and activity for many people all around the world. With the onset and creation of online casinos, more and more people are finding gambling to be a great source of entertainment and enjoyment. Because the activity is becoming so popular, it seems that online and in the news, gambling has become center stage in many respects, making headlines both on the Internet an in other more conventional and traditional news forms.
For many gambling is a nice way to have fun. But for others, it can be a serious undertaking, and one that can leave bad blood between players and opponents. Recently, in South Africa, a man was stoned to death by a group of men he had been gambling with in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, according to authorities. Captain Gerald Mfeka said Nathi Xolo was attacked after he supposedly assaulted a fellow gambler on Sunday. This is clearly a case of gambling gone bad.
Xolo had been playing a gambling card game when a fight began between him and the fellow gambler. According to Mfeka, eyewitnesses saw the group of men chase Xolo to his house, entering, and ‘damaging everything’. Although Xolo managed to escape from his house, he ended up collapsing near a neighbor’s house. He was taken to Port Shepstone Hospital but died later from his injuries. A case of murder is being investigated regarding this gambling fight, and twelve people have been arrested. | |
