 Caribbean Stud Poker Gambling Rules

- Friday, 21 Oct 2005

In this article we intend to provide a general overview of the basic gambling rules for playing Caribbean Stud Poker. As opposed to other gambling games you can find at the online casino, Caribbean Stud Poker does not involve gambling against other players. In this gambling game everyone are playing against the casino (dealer), paying out all winning wagers. The only way to win is by beating the dealer’s hand. A game of Caribbean Stud Poker starts with each player making the “ante”, which is an expression used to describe the initial blind bet. Upon making it, each of the players is dealt five cards all facing down.

The dealer also gets five cards, while four are facing down and one up. The next stage in this gambling game is for each of the participating players to decide whether or not he is interested in continuing plying the game or folding, taking into account that cards he is holding. If the player chooses to fold, he automatically forfeits his ante. On the other hand, if he chooses to continue gambling he must double it.

Now it’s time for the dealer to reveal the hand he is holding. The dealer has to have an A-k or higher if he wants to continue playing his hand. If the dealer doesn’t continue to play his hand, the player is paid even money on the ante and also the additional wager is not forfeited. In the event that the player and the dealer play the same hand, the remaining cards are taken into account. In the event all 5 are equal, the hand is nullified. Here neither the additional bet nor the ante is lost.
