Some high-powered casino operators are planning to try to convince a Senate committee that their customers should be able to enjoy gambling even when not sitting in a casino lounge. The Senate’s special committee will hear testimony about why hand-held gambling devices, which would allow players to enjoy gambling even if they are not on the casino floor, should be an integral part of the future of Atlantic City.
A senator on the committee admits that they do not know much about the gambling technology and hope that the testimonies which they will hear will help them shed some light on what is happening in the industry and ultimately to help the gambling and casino operators to facilitate this wish of theirs. The proposed wireless devices is about the size of hand-held video games: players would be able to move from the gambling floor to other parts of the casino hotel but keep on playing their favorite games.
The Nevada legislature had recently passed a law last spring, which permitted the gambling devices. It is expected that the gambling commission will agree to regulations later this month which would allow Las Vegas gambling lovers to play the games anywhere on casino property. This would allow a player to sit by the pool or in a restaurant and continue gambling. If a player can continue gambling while relaxing at the pool, this is obviously a great way to generate even more income for the already mega-profitable casinos.
