Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil’s “Off The Strip” poker gambling event will be partially sponsored by the Small Town Poker Tour. All proceeds generated from the gambling event will benefit the T. J. Martell Foundation, which is an organization formed by members of the music industry. The organization is devoted to incorporating innovative life saving research into the treatment of AIDS, cancer and leukemia.
Governor Supports Onshore Gambling Bill19 Oct 2005
Haley Barbour who is the governor of the state of Mississippi is in favor of allowing offshore gambling ships to be situated on land in order to minimize the structural threat from Hurricanes. Several of the 13 gambling facilities operating in Biloxi, Gulfport and Bay St. Louis have suffered severe damages as a result of Hurricane Katrina, ripping walls and tossing barges onto buildings and highways.

Gambling in Louisiana Casino Resumes15 Oct 2005
The Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner in Louisiana, has recently resumed all gambling activities. The gambling resort which is owned by the Boyd Gaming Corporation opened its doors on last Monday for the first time since Hurricane Katrina struck the US gulf coast. Even though the gambling resort suffered only mild damages, it remained closed given the tragedy that has stricken area.
Kentucky Teachers are Pro Gambling13 Oct 2005
You normally wouldn’t expect educators to support a bill that would facilitate gambling. However, Jefferson County Teachers Association in Kentucky is in favor of a legislation that will allow citizens to decide whether to allow casino-style gambling from within horse tracks. Kentucky teachers are hoping that some of the gambling revenues generated for the state as a result of this bill will be canalled to public schools.
