The recent news of a large British bookmaker entering the Norwegian market has brought the four countries – Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark – to the headlines, at least with all the concerns online gambling. With one of the highest per capita spending on online gambling in Europe, the Norwegians and their neighbors have caught the sights of large international online gambling companies. The local markets in these countries are about to witness a boost in activity and online casinos speaking their languages.
Online gambling companies who are seeking alternatives to the closed-off United States gambling market are turning to Europe. It seems that the continent is the next in line, but certainly not the only new market or the final one. The world, mainly Asia and India but other regions of the world too are also being tested. As a matter of fact, countries in southern Europe, Italy and Spain among them, already host international online gambling companies who have partnered with local companies in operating local sites.
In Norway, a 36 million British pound deal was signed, and the British company will partner with a local Norwegian one. Thus the local experience and familiarity with the market will add to the global perspective brought to the deal by the UK company. To profit from this is the Scandinavian market, who with the experience of both worlds – the international and the local – will likely get a chance to visit some of the best online gambling sites around.
