- Thursday, 15 Dec 2005
Creative marketing is usually the forte of the Golden Palace online casino, or so I used to think. It appears that there is another online gambling site that is using eBay as a way of promoting itself. The marketing team at BetbyInternet has come up with a very clever way of attracting attention to their online casino. The online gambling site auctioned $100,000 to be used solely for the purpose of gambling at the online casino. The site invited online casinos players to participate in an online auction on eBay with the winning bid getting the 100 grand to spend at the online casino.
Shortly after the auction was opened for bids, it was shut down by eBay. So far the highest offer amounts to $49,000. The reason why eBay decided to shut down the auction stems from the shaky legal status of the online gambling industry. In the meantime, the online gambling site is looking for a way to appease eBay and get the auction running again. Instead of auctioning gambling money, the online casino plans to auction an all-expanse paid gambling trip to Vegas.
Even though the Golden Palace online casino is the one that seemingly wrote the book on online gambling marketing, BetbyInternet scored major points for creativeness. The idea of auctioning 100 grand worth of gambling money is genius, I bet that that the Golden Palace wished they thought of it first. | |
