These days, online gambling sites are constantly looking for spokespersons, celebrities in particular. During the past few months some online gambling sites have been more successful than others in recruiting celebrity spokespersons. Some online gambling sites have approached celebrities outside of the gambling industry. Recently, both actress Cameron Diaz and supermodel Kate Moss have rebuffed lucrative offers handed to them certain online casinos. On the other hand, Tom Arnold the host of Fox’s “Best Damn Sports Show” and Jesse Ventura who served as the Governor of Minnesota, have accepted offers from online casinos to serve as their official spokespersons.
Poker Stars, one f the largest poker gambling sites online, is the recent online casino to have applied such a tactic. Instead of looking outside, the online casino preferred to target someone from gambling industry itself. 2005 World Series of Poker champion, Joe Hachem, is the latest name to have agreed to endorse as an online gambling site. Hachem will serve as a sponsored player and an advocate for the online gambling site. Hachem needs little to no introduction to gambling fans. He turned into a household name after winning an unprecedented $7.5 million in last July’s WSOP that took place in Las Vegas.
The signing of Hachem joins 2003 WSOP champion Chris Moneymaker and 2004 WSOP champion Greg Raymer, giving the online gambling site three representatives who are also former WSOP winners. Speeking about his new job, Hachem says, “Joining Team Poker Stars is a natural decision for me". Hachem added saying, "This online casino is the site where I really picked up on the intricacies of tournament poker. The wide selection of tournaments and gambling games is so great that I become a skilled player within a relatively short time-frame.
