Leading online gambling sites such as Absolute Poker, Bodog, and PointBet have incorporated a new revolutionary tool that will enable them to track and minimize fraudulent behavior. The company that is responsible for providing these fraud management solutions to these sites is called iovation. Online casinos have to protect their investment. We are talking about online gambling sites that process millions of transactions a year for millions of dollars.
This is the first service of its kind that has been put t work I the online gambling industry. iovation’s created a back-end fraud protection system called ieSnare that is able to match distinct device-identifiers to online casino accounts. The Device Reputation Authority is a database matching systemthat is able to link devices and online casino accounts allowing online gambling operators to single and flag players who are suspected of behaving fraudulently without having to reveal any kind personal information. Online casinos protected by ieSnare can share forensic analysis once these devices are identified.
Think of it as the Interpol of the online gambling industry. This would allow online casinos subscribed to ieSnare to limit or prevent access based on the reputation of the devices in question.Greg Pierson, president and CEO of iovation explains, “Every dollar of fraud has a direct relationship to valuation. As the online gambling industry capitalizes on consumer enthusiasm, iovation is decreasing fraud and increasing our value to existing and future clients through the growth of the Device Reputation Authority (DRA)”.
