With week 3 officially in the books, sports gambling experts are still scrambling to make some sense of things. Gambling on who will win the title is tough at this point, with all the leading contenders having suffered a loss, while a team that no online gambling site even saw coming is 3-0. The New England Patriots have lost on week 2 to the Carolina Panthers; The Philadelphia Eagles lost on week one to the Atlanta Falcons, and the Pittsburg Steelers lost this week to the Patriots. On the other hand, the Cincinnati Bengals are still undefeated.
The Bengals are off to their best start in 15 years. Carson Palmer has been very impressive during the first three weeks. Realistically, what are the gambling odds of the Bengals becoming serious title contenders? No online gambling site gives them any serious consideration when it comes to upsetting any of the top-ranked teams. The main reason why no sports gambling site will rank them among the elite teams in the league is because it’s still pretty early in the season.
The other reason why the Bengals are not taken too seriously by sports gambling websites is the fact that their wins came at the expense of Cleveland, Minnesota and Chicago. With all do respect to these teams, they are regarded as second-tier teams. The real test for Cincinnati will come in week 7 when they’ll be hosting the Steelers. If the Bengals manage to get a quality win over a quality opponent such as Pittsburg, online gambling sites will start taking them for real. | |
