Golden Palace online casino just is just as famous for its collection of strange items as it is for providing a superb gambling experience. For a change, the latest purchase made by the online gambling site didn’t raise any eyebrows. The online casino purchased a helmet that used to belong to NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. Gordon threw his helmet on fellow driver Michael Waltrip during last week’s race. The money that was used by the online gambling site for purchasing the item will be donated to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The helmet was thrown after both drivers were involved in an accident that took place at the New Hampshire International Speedway. To make emence, Gordon decided to auction the helmet on eBay where it was bought by the online gambling site for $51,100 with all proceeds going to Harrah's Employee Relief Fund. Gordon was quoted on eBay saying, “What happened was unfortunate. I'm sorry for losing my temper following the race, but after a day or two of looking back at the race its easy to realize that its just not that big of a deal compared with what the people of the Gulf Coast are still going through”.
Harrah intends to use the donation for assisting those who have suffered the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Richard Rowe, CEO of the online gambling site says, “We are pleased to able to help the noble efforts of Harrah's in their cause to provide relief to the victims of this disaster”.
