- Wednesday, 22 Feb 2006
The Irish gambling site Match Book has recently confirmed rumors that it plans to expand into the North American sports betting market. The firm’s announcement came after the successful launch of its beta site generated an average ten million dollars per week from American gambling fans. The gambling site has long expressed interest in the U.S. sports betting market, which is worth a staggering $100 billion dollars and is renowned for its highly competitive environment.
Match Book’s decision to test its luck with U.S. gambling fans came after local market conditions created strong levels of growth. The gambling firm subsequently examined its presence in the U.S. with the launch of its beta site in spring 2005, the results of which exceeded company expectations. The revenue generated from the beta site offered the gambling site a taste of things to come, and the decision to enter the competitive market place was made.
Like many other gambling sites, Match Book charges a two percent commission on client betting. Originally created by a group of former bookmakers and financial experts, the gambling firm is fully licensed in Antigua. | |
