There is a fine line in finding the difference between gambling on investments and investing on gambling. Many top financial institutions say that online gambling companies are a good investment. The online gambling industry is has an entire financial subculture of its own. This industry that hardly existed ten years ago has been booming over the past few years and companies directly and indirectly involved in supporting the online gambling industry are doing very well. Many of these companies that operate casinos or bookmakers trade publicly and at this period of heightened sports gambling, investing in this industry is no gamble at all.
The World Cup and other major sporting events have fueled an immense gambling craze and the fortunes in the companies behind the scenes are prospering greatly. Technology has allowed for bettors to enjoy gambling from anywhere – interactive TV and third generation cell phones are just a sample of the industry’s potential. With technological developments spiraling upwards, the financial potential of the companies involved in providing software and hardware to the online gambling industry should not be underestimated.
At the end of 2005 it was announced that online gambling was the hottest market and several top Wall Street financial houses stated that investing in firms related to this industry were a good bet. This trend only seems to be getting stronger, with more and more of the online gambling companies going public, and producing very solid results.
