Online gambling is one of the most exciting pastimes to crop up in the past decade. In just over ten years, the birth and consequent tidal wave spread of the popularity of online gambling has taken the world by storm. The industry has become a true force to be reckoned with and websites and pop up ads are appearing everywhere on the internet in order to promote online gambling. However, before you get enthralled by this pastime, you need to make sure that you are legally allowed to do so.
Online gambling is not permitted in several countries, including the United States. While this is the case, many law enforcement officials and industry spokespersons have made it clear that they are not hunting out the individual participating in online gambling, but rather the providers. England is currently going through a process of legalizing and regulating online and other forms of gambling, while several Far East countries are doing the same.
Even in those countries that online gambling is legal, an age limit exists. Most countries only allow persons above the age of 18 to be allowed to participate in online gambling for money. Some countries or states might even demand an age limit of 21. If you are not legally allowed to participate in online gambling, remember that this refers only to placing monetary bets; so if you are desperate all the sites offer free games as a teaser.
