- Thursday, 16 Mar 2006
The online gambling industry has become a global business, and countries around the globe are meeting to discuss the latest in gambling. Whether it is how to bring in more US players to sites or how to restrict underage players from entering, there is plenty to discuss at this years European Casino Affiliate Convention, which is taking place in Amsterdam. People from all areas of the online gambling industry will be there to hear and discuss views and future plans. The Casino Affiliate Convention will be held on April 9 - 10, 2006 in Amsterdam at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel. It is the largest conference and expo on marketing and advertising for the gaming and gambling industry. In February 2006, Italy announced that it would block IP addresses of online gambling sites without an Italian gaming license. The issues that resulted in this decision along with the actions taken thus far, as well as alternative options for gaming site operators will be discussed. The event will also discuss the potential of other countries following similar policies, including technical issues involved with implementing filters for websites containing gambling content. Management options for both operators and affiliates will be discussed. Planning for a crisis in advance is better than dealing with the aftermath of one that has a material adverse result on a business. Toward that end, Peter Milovic, CEO of In Charge will provide the business analysis and decision process required for crisis management, and options available for online gambling industry management in the event of severely reduced internet traffic.
