The true nature of online gambling was exposed when the results of a poll on online casino gambling performed by the American Gaming Association was released. The American Gaming Association has recently released the results of their annual poll about online gambling and the nature of the online gambling industry. The poll addressed issued that are extremely pressing to the online gambling industry at present because of the uncertain future of online gambling in the United States.
It was discovered that casino revenues were up about 5% nationwide last year. Approximately one-third of that money was generated in the state of Nevada Las Vegas where gambling is legal. Gambling is becoming more accepted by society and the figures in the poll indicate this - 83% of Americans view gambling as a personal choice and 80% now view gambling as acceptable. Casinos are no longer being considered an element of fringe society as local governments have chosen gambling as a form of raising money for cultural and social needs. Many states have legalized slot machines at horse racing tracks and even more are beginning to address the issue of state-sponsored casinos.
When questioned about the legal state of gambling in the United States most of those who participated in the poll think that the gray status of gambling will pass soon and that ultimately the industry will be legalized and regulated. Americans account for about 60% of the total online gambling market so it is thought to be very hard to quell such a strong customer base.
