With it being week 10 and seeing that the Colts are still undefeated, sports gambling sites are taking bets on how long Indianapolis is able to maintain its perfect record. After getting over their biggest hurdle this season by defeating the New England, the possibility that the Colts will finish the regular season 16-0 seems more and more probable with each passing day. Pinnacle Sports is one of the sports gambling that is offering a betting line on the Colts’ odds of remaining undefeated. The sports gambling site has been offering this betting line right after week 6, when the Colts won against the St. Louis.
At the beginning, the sports gambling site had the Colts as a long shot to finishing the season with a perfect record. As a result, the online gambling site started them as a 10/1 shot. Those who had the sense of putting their money on Indianapolis back then, stand a chance to win $10 for every $1 wagered (in the event the Colts remain undefeated). Since the sports betting site has posted these initial odds, almost 80% of all the bets were on the Colts staying perfect. After last week’s victory over their arch nemesis, the sports betting site has cut down the odds to 9/2. The odds that Indy will lose at least one game has been cut down by the sports gambling site from 1/12 to 1/5.
Simon Noble, spokesperson for the sports betting site says, "The parity in the NFL makes it almost impossible for any team to go undefeated in a 16-game regular season, but experts and bettors appear to believe this Colts team has the best chance since the 1998 Denver Broncos began the season 13-0. Noble also adds, “Despite Indianapolis having five games versus teams vying for playoff spots on the remainder of their schedule, an overwhelming majority of our bettors have gone against the historical trend and backed a perfect Colts season". If the Colts do manage to pull it off, they will the first team since the 1972 Dolphins to finish the season with an unblemished record.
