Endemol UK, which is the owner and developer of the mega hit British TV show, Big Brother, has announced plan to enter the sports gambling industry. The world of sports gambling is enticing the company to create a new division to be called Endemol Gaming, which will develop a few new projects in the gaming industry. Some of the plans revealed by the company include online poker facilities, instant win games and gaming TV.
The company realizes that it will need to supplement its sports gambling activities and will also develop fixed odds games, multiplayer quiz contests and other skill based games. Endemol sports gambling sector, Endemol Gaming, will be headed Creative Director Brian Macsweeney and Managing Director Sarah Bellamy. Macsweeney said that Endemol Gaming allows the company to combine expertise in the online gaming sector with the creative talent and production capabilities of Endemol to enter the sports gambling niche.
It was reported earlier this month by a top British newspaper that sports gambling was a booming market and that there was great potential. Along with the introduction of the sports gambling newspaper, The Sportsman, market competition has increased to the benefit of all involved.
