An online gambling sports website offered the opportunity to gamble on the outcome of the recent November elections. The online gambling website's political bettors overwhelmingly bet that the Republican Party would keep its hold of the Senate, a bet that turned out false. Nearly, 90% of the cash was bet on the Republican side on this bet but the gamblers felt differently about the House of Representatives where most of the bets were put on a Democratic victory.
The polls indicated that many of the seats in the House will go Democrat yet due to the number of House seats with a tight race it was quite impossible to predict what would actually take place. The online gambling website's odds makers calculated the odds as such: The Democrats were -400 and +170 to win in the House and Senate respectively; The Republicans were +300 and -220 to win in the house and Senate respectively. Not your every day online gambling wager.
This bet proved difficult for even the most experienced online gambling experts. The recent elections had 33 Senate seats up for grabs. Most experts believed that most of them will stay in the hands of the party to currently hold the seat yet some were sure to change hands, shift, surprise and even shock us. So those who were brave and wanted to take online gambling to a new and political level did that, even if they were not successful with the results. | |
